Pete Seeger is an American folk musician. In the late 1940’s and early 1950’s he was a member of The Weavers, who topped the charts for the song Goodnight Irene. He was a prominent supporter of unions, and was blacklisted during the McCarthy era. He became a popular protest musician in the 1960’s. He wrote the popular songs: Turn, Turn, Turn, We Shall Overcome, Where Have All the Flowers Gone, Little Boxes, and many more.
